Family Fun Fridays at Blithewold
School Vacation Fridays 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Aside from a day at the beach, Blithewold’s Family Fun Fridays are the ultimate family-friendly way to enjoy an early summer afternoon. Bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy the show! Each week, kids can dance and sing along to a variety of educational and interactive musical performances.
***Activities will include a live performance from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a craft project, face painting, picnicking, and pizza from Leo’s Ristorante to 1 p.m.

July 6 – FAMILY ZUMBATOMIC DANCE PARTY!! This year, we will kick-off the season with a fun and interactive Zumba dance party! Kids and adults are all welcome to come and dance along with Zumba instructor Zaida Humphreys, who was voted 1st PLACE FOR FAVORITE FITNESS INSTRUCTOR IN THE NEWPORT COUNTY AREA 2012! Wear some sneakers and comfortable clothing, and join the fun!
July 13 – Vanessa Trien
Boston-based singer-songwriter and children’s performer, Vanessa Trien has become a local rock star among the young and young at heart. Sing and dance along as she performs some of the hits from her two award-winning children’s CDs, Carnival Day and Hot Air Balloon.
July 20 – The Super Cool Beans
The Beans are a high-energy Children’s Pop Group who inspire an appreciation for the natural world while hailing the benefits of numbers and new technologies. Nature’s Children meet Modern Technology in this spirited musical performance!
July 27 – Bari Koral
Dubbed the “'IT girl' in kids/family music” by NY Magazine and the “Sheryl Crow for kids” by the NY Post, Bari's songs are a huge hit with children and adults. Her catchy, pop-friendly tunes, interactive live shows & heavy rotation radio play have gained the band literally thousands of young (and not so young!) fans.
August 3 – Christopher Kavi Carbone
Come gather 'round and share story & song celebrations with Christopher Kavi Carbone, the musical storyteller of lightness and warmth!
August 10 – Kaleidoscope Theatre - Jack & The Beanstalk on Friday, August 10. Kaleidoscope Theatre is a professional touring children’s theatre company that creates the opportunity for talented young people to develop theatrical abilities by encouraging participation in the production and performance of theatrical plays. The goal of each performance is to educate and entertain young people through the medium of presentational and participatory drama.
August 17 – Keith Munslow
Keith presents a one-of-a-kind show that will delight everyone with its unique mix of funny and original songs and stories, tongue-twisting poems, oddball characters, and on-the-spot cartoon drawing.
August 24 – Toe-Jam Puppet Band
The Toe-Jam Puppet Band offers a special brand of hands-on children's interactive entertainment that grown-ups can actually enjoy. The performers encourage kids and parents to sing and dance along with the band, as they entertain all with a unique combination of original songs, masterful shadow puppetry, storytelling, and just plain old good fun.
