Holiday Music Performance in the Living Room - Jane Revkin, Dawn Chung Flute and Piano
Jane Revkin (flute
) studied music at the University of Rhode Island and did her graduate work at Lesley University where she got her M.Ed in Integrating the Arts into the Curriculum. For the last 20 years, she has been teaching the joy of music to children from 9 months through third grade. She is trained and licensed in the Music Together program as well as the Kodaly method of early childhood music and has been the music specialist at Montessori schools in Rhode Island.
Revkin maintains her own teaching studio for flute and recorder lessons and ensembles in East Greenwich, RI. She performs regularly at social functions, retirement centers and is a member of the Henschel and Chopin Clubs. She is a member and Personal manager of the RI Wind Ensemble.
Jane is a member of the AMC Mountains and Music Committee. Jane is on the Board of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association and chaired the International Biennial Convention held in Providence, RI in 2008.
Pianist Dawn Chung, a native of Taiwan, graduated from Berklee College of Music and has received her Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Rhode Island. She is a faculty member at The Music School of RI Philharmonic Orchestra and the music director at the First Baptist Church of North Kingston, RI. She has worked as a studio accompanist at Boston Conservatory and Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre of Boston, and has performed with many musical groups including Amari String Quartet, South County Chamber Singers, Operartisti, “Tea for Two” Cabaret, Moonlighters Jazz Orchestra, James Hunter Jazz Quartet, as well as many local theatre productions including Steven Jobe’s operas Joan of Arc and Melusine. She currently works as a free-lance pianist, and performs regularly at Chopin Club, Henschel Club and English Country Dance, as well as weddings and private functions.
