There is no better place for your child to spend his/her summer, exploring Blithewold’s gorgeous 33 acres of shorefront, gardens and grounds.

Each fun-filled week has a unique theme and is packed full of arts and crafts, science, games, beach exploration, hiking through the gardens & grounds, nature exploration, music and dancing, Family Fun Friday performances, and visits from special guests!

Weekly details:

Life at Sea (June 27 – July 1)  Get ready to immerse yourself in the diverse and amazing ecosystem of Narragansett Bay while you embark on the many adventures that await you!  Experience hands-on exploration in our incredible shore-side habitats, enjoy tidepooling, seine fishing, making a seaweed press, water games and sprinkler fun, learning about animal habitats, creating seashell arts and crafts, celebrating various creatures of the sea, and making sailor’s valentines.

 

Spirit Week (July 5 – 8)  –

Because of the 4th of July holiday, the 4 day rate will be $130 Member, $150 Non-member

 

This week is all about embracing the spirit of summer, especially the 4th of July! Campers will cram all of the fun of summer into one week, while enjoying activities such as water balloon toss, watermelon relay races, Capture the Flag, camp 4th of July parade, vegetable garden activities, trips to the beach, picnics and more!

Blithewold Olympics (July 11 – 15) 

 

 During this fun-filled, action packed week, campers will participate in a Blithewold version of the Olympics! Less about competition and more about fun, each child will participate in games and activities such as recycled materials relay, paper airplane challenge, scavenger hunts, yoga, field day games, stilts & other old fashioned toys, create life size-game board, team building games, designing team mascots and more!


Junior Picassos (July 18 – 22) 

 

The majestic gardens and grounds of Blithewold are true inspiration for budding artists! This week, Junior Picasso’s will enjoy art al fresco, nature art projects, culinary arts, floral design, saltwater painting at the beach, a sand castle contest, sculpting, music, photography, create animal art, all while learning about various artists from around the world.

 Beach Week (July 25 – July 29)  This week, campers will celebrate everyone’s favorite summer activity — going to the beach! Picnics, water bucket races and water balloon fun, volleyball, making sea-inspired art, learning about ocean conservation efforts, a beach clean-up, sprinkler fun, shell projects, sea-life exploration, tidepooling, treasure hunts, and more!

 


Explorers Week (August 1 – 5)  This week is all about immersing in nature and exploring the great outdoors! Throughout the week, we will explore all of the many places that make our camp so unique! Campers will tour the Mansion, catch frogs at the frog pond, explore gardens using a compass, discover the bamboo forest, and do some beach exploration. Campers will have a fun new theme each day, such as hat day and totally tie-dye day. It is sure to be an exciting week!

The Land of Make Believe (August 8 – 12
) Blithewold is a magical place! Campers will be encouraged to bring a wild imagination to camp this week — it will be filled with forts and fairies, wizards and science experiments, magic and surprises! Campers will get search for frogs, insects and flowers, create their very own herbal potions, write their own fairy tales, and even get to create fairy or gnome houses in the gardens.

Theater Week (August 15 – 19)  Lights! Cameras! Action! Join us this week for some theatrical fun, including acting lessons, special guests, costume making, music, role playing, art al fresco, creative writing, garden expeditions, and an original camp theatrical production!

 

*Each week at camp, regardless of theme, will include activities such as special guest visits, the vegetable garden program, hikes on the grounds, trips to the frog pond, beach time, sprinkler fun and  plenty of time outdoors, and free play.
