| RAFFLE RULES AND HOW TO ENTER
1. Tickets are $100 per entry, 4 for $250, and 10 for $500. Complete the raffle coupons and return with a check payable to Blithewold, Inc. 101 Ferry Road, Bristol, RI 02809. If you prefer to pay with a credit card, please call 401-253-2707 ext. 21.
2. If you are attending the “A Celebration of a Century” gala, you may purchase tickets at the event.
3. Raffle winners will be selected throughout Blithewold’s “A Celebration of a Century" Gala on August 16, 2008. You do not need to attend the event to participate in the drawing as all winners will be notified by telephone. Winners are responsible for collecting prizes at Blithewold or arranging for shipment.
4. Prizes are not redeemable in cash and substitution of prizes will not be possible. Raffle tickets are non-transferable. Any taxes on prizes or required gratuities are the full responsibility of the prize winner.
5. Employees of Blithewold and their families are not eligible to enter. Additional restrictions, such as expiration dates, may apply to some prizes.
6. Raffle entry purchases are fully tax deductible as a charitable contribution UNLESS a prize is won by the purchaser.

LIVE AUCTION RULES
1. General Information: The live auction will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008 and start at approximately 7:00 pm. Each live auction item will be offered between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM. The Auctioneer will announce each package letter (A, B, C, D) and the bidding will start at the Auctioneer’s discretion. Blithewold Inc, does not accept any risk, liability or responsibility for the authenticity of any property offered at this auction. Any questions should be directed to Blithewold Inc., and not to LIN Television which serves merely as auctioneer for the event. Blithewold, Inc. is not responsible for donors’ estimated values or the accuracy of the description of the items that are being written in the catalog or described during the auction or raffle. All property is sold “as is” and Blithewold does not make and representations or warranties of any kind or nature, expressed or implied, with respect to the property, and in no event shall either of them be responsible for the correctness of any catalogue or notices or descriptions of property, not be deemed to have made, any representation or warranty of physical condition, size, quality, rarity, important, attribution, authenticity, provenance or historical relevance of the property.
2. Conditions of the Auction: The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute. If any dispute arises after the sale, Blithewold Inc.’s sale records shall be conclusive in all respects. If the auctioneer determines that any opening bid is not commensurate with the value of the article offered, he may reject the same and withdraw the article from sale, and if, having acknowledged an opening bid, he decides that any advance thereafter is insufficient, he may reject the advance. The highest bidder shall be deemed to have purchased the offered lot subject to all of the conditions set forth herein and thereupon (a) assumes the risk and responsibility thereof, including without limitation damage to frames or glass, (b) will sign a confirmation of purchase thereof and (c) will pay the full purchase price therefore or such part as Blithewold Inc. may require. All property shall be removed from Blithewold’s premises within two weeks following the sale. If the foregoing conditions and other applicable conditions are not complied with, in addition to other remedies available to Blithewold, Inc. by law, including , without limitation, the right to hold the purchaser liable for the bid price, Blithewold Inc. at its option, may either (a) cancel the sale, or (b) resell the property on three days notice to the purchaser and for the account and risk of the purchaser, either publicly or privately, and in such event the purchaser shall be liable for payment of any deficiency, all other charges due hereunder and incidental damages.
3. Opening and Suggested Starting Bids: Blithewold Inc. has provided a starting bid for all auction packages. These suggested opening bids are to be taken as such and not to be construed as “prices.” The Auctioneer, at the sole discretion, will set the suggested starting bid for each lot when announcing the lot. The final bid may be less or considerable above this value.
4. Tax Deductibility: According to the IRS, the amount of charitable contribution deduction available to an auction lot purchaser is limited to the extent by which the individual lot purchase price exceeds the “fair market value” except where value is expressly stated otherwise. The value stated herein is the donor’s estimated fair market value.
5. Tax Receipts: Bidders will receive a tax receipt indicating the sales price of the auction package and the fair market value via mail within two weeks of the event. Donors of goods and services to Blithewold, Inc. will be provided within a reasonable period of time a receipt indicating the fair market value of the lot which they donated. It is suggested that donors complete the Blithewold Raffle Donation Form so that the donor’s value will be assessed to the item.
6. Purchase: The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer, in the sole and absolute discretion has, in the eyes of Blithewold, Inc. purchased that lot and at that time is held responsible for payment and pick-up.
7. Service and Non-tangible Items: It is the responsibility of the buyer to make arrangements with the donor to redeem gift certificates for services and other non-tangible items. Blithewold Inc. accepts donations in good faith and is in no way responsible for any inability or unwillingness of a donor to deliver goods or services as promised. All gift certificates, dinner events and other non-wine donated services shall be redeemed within one year of the date of purchase unless other mutually agreeable arrangements are made between the service provider and winning bidder.
8. Payments: Payment of all auction packages shall be made within one hour following the conclusion of the event. All payments shall be made in check or credit card (MasterCard or Visa) at the time the items are picked up. Checks shall be made in United States currency and drawn on United States banks. Checks should be made payable to Blithewold Inc. It will take extra time to proceed with checkout if bids are split among several bidders. Bid splitting will be available on items in the Saturday live auction only and the bid must be greater than $1000.00.
9. Removal and/or Shipment of Packages: Blithewold Inc. will not be responsible for any auction items left at the end of the two weeks. Blithewold will not transport any unclaimed items to another location for pick up. Courier/Shipment can be made and fees for this service will be the responsibility of the winning bidder.
