VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES - Give the Gift of Time
Make new friends, acquire increased knowledge of history, architecture and horticulture, and interact with people from around the world. Enjoy a pleasant, social environment while making a personal contribution to ensuring the survival of an historic landmark.
Visitor Center and Gift Shop Weekly and bi-weekly schedules are available in the Visitor Center/Gift Shop, especially for afternoon and weekend shifts between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Mansion Docents As a docent, you are positioned inside the mansion and welcome visitors as they arrive. You provide interpretive information about Blithewold to visitors and answer questions. We have visitors from around the world so this is a great way to meet people and share your knowledge. Come alone or bring a friend or spouse and volunteer together.
Committees We have many ongoing committess for several areas involved in running Blithewold including building and grounds management, education, and finance. There are also special committees that form for our various fundraiser events, including the Gala, Spring Fair, and Garden Design Luncheon.
Events Our events would not succeed without the help of volunteers like you. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out with our next upcoming event!
Gardens Blithewold’s small garden staff has the very able help of two-dozen garden volunteers. The volunteers comprise three groups each of which meets one of three mornings a week. The ‘Deadheads’, the ‘Rockettes’ and the ‘Florabundas’ assist in every aspect of garden maintenance from spring until frost.
