Archives and Collections Tour
Thursdays - December 1 till December 29
Blithewold’s Tour Guide will take you up to the Mansion’s third floor for a “behind the scenes” tour of the newly expanded and repurposed Archives and Collections area. The tour will include the Costumes Collection area, with over 100 dresses; shoes and hats; books and paintings collections; and research and transcription facilities, with storage for the thousands of family letters, photographs, and diaries that were saved by the Pardee, Van Wickle, McKee, and Lyon families.
Sparkle! An Outdoor Family Event

Friday Nights Sparkle! A marshmallow-roasting-Christmas-carol-singing-cocoa-sipping-strolling-through-the-twinkling-garden-paths-fun-for-the-whole-family event! Each Friday night a different group will present two performances of carol singing, from 6:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. & 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. around the bonfire.
The Great Blithewold Baking Show

A night you will not want to miss! Blithewold and Kathleen Seguin of Bristol House B&B invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the tastes of the season. During this “baking show” you will not only get to learn from food prep demonstrations, but you will sample delightful breads, pastries, desserts, and holiday cocktails. And, you will leave with recipes and entertaining tips for the holidays. The demonstration will take place in Blithewold’s beautifully decorated Dining Room.

The Van Wickle family hosted many parties and celebrations at Blithewold. One of the most notable celebrations was Marjorie Van Wickle and George Lyon’s wedding, which took place on June 1, 1914, in an elegant outdoor ceremony in Blithewold’s Enclosed Garden.
