Camp Sequoia 2025 Week 3, Day 5: Pirate Day

Argh matey, happy pirate day! We started our morning by making treasure maps. Then, we had our pirate scavenger hunt. We read the campers the story about The Pirates of Blithewold. We told them about how the pirates left treasure for us here and how we had to find it. So we traveled to the rose garden to find the clues. The campers decoded the crypt that the pirates left for us. The message revealed that the treasure was at the frog pond. When we got there, there was a huge treasure chest waiting for us, filled with all sorts of goodies. All of the campers got to take a piece of the treasure home. After our scavenger hunt, we returned to camp for lunch and free play. When free play was finished we came inside to cool off. Our next activity was to build pirate ships! Each camper made a ship of their own. Then, it was time for water games. Since it was so hot, the CITs planned a fun pirate-themed game for the campers to play so we could all cool off. Then, we came inside to change and then eat a snack. We ended the day with campfire. We cannot wait for week four!! Check out the photos from today.
