Camp Sequoia 2025: Week 2, Day 4: Exploring The Gardens

Today, we had so much fun learning about composting and the history of the gardens at Blithewold. This morning we started the day making carrots. It was a great way to ease ourselves into our veggie garden exploration. After that, we cleaned up and got ourselves ready for our trip to the Idea Garden. When we got there, the campers got to tour the different types of gardens that made a lasting impact on Blithewold’s history. Everyone learned something new and exciting. Then, we went to see what was new in the veggie garden with Ms. Becca! The campers got to taste multiple different herbs. Then we went back to camp to have lunch and free play. After lunch, we did our compost activity. We read the campers a book titled “Up In The Garden, and Down In The Dirt” The book was about the important job the worms and humans have in keeping soil healthy. Our activity was to decorate our worms in a garden. We then played a fun new game called bridge tag. Finally, we came back to camp to get ready for the campfire and pick up. Tomorrow is color day! Don’t forget to wear your favorite color. Check out the pictures from today!
