Welcome to Camp Sequoia 2025!!!

Camp Sequoia is back in action for another year. We are so excited for another summer. We have a couple of exciting announcements!

My first announcement is that Blithewold has undergone some changes. There is a new logo and a new name! It will now be referred to as Blithewold Manor, Gardens, and Arboretum. The shift has helped create a balance between the beauty of the gardens and the house. If you see Blithewold Manor it is still the same great place with an awesome summer camp 🙂

My next announcement is that our assistant counselors, Nick and Owen, have moved on and will not be returning to camp this year. However we are fortunate that we will still see them on the grounds in the Events Department! They will deeply missed as they had a long dedication to our program. They, like myself, started out just as campers. Then, they moved on to the positions of CIT and counselor. They left big shoes for our new counselors to fill. Good luck to Nick and Owen!

We have two new counselors to our team! I am pleased to welcome Kiah Fielding and Will Woods. Kiah is no stranger to Camp Sequoia. She had previously been a CIT with us but has returned to fill the counselor position. She cannot wait to be back in the mansion giving tours to the campers. Will is spending his summer in Rhode Island and excited to be back at a summer camp. As a Connecticut native, Will is going to experience the beauty of Blithewold for the first time this year. He is no stranger to nature as he helps keep Salve Regina University’s arboretum up to date. You can read more about them from their bios on the website. Welcome Kiah and Will!

We cannot wait to see all the campers this summer. This upcoming week we will be prepping the camp space. This summer the campers will explore their creativity through team-building activities. There will be projects and investigations to create educational experiences throughout the grounds of Blithewold. On top of that, we will continue to make new camp traditions to merge with the ones I remember from my time as a camper. No two weeks at camp are ever the same, so the campers always have fun memories to share. Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to check out our blog everyday during camp! We cannot wait to see everyone!
