I am not a professional. Am I allowed to take photos during my visit?
Yes, during regular operating hours, everyone is encouraged to take photos – for personal use only. If you post them on social media, please tag Blithewold. We love to see them!
Why must my photo session be booked in advance?
At times, photography and video cannot be allowed. It’s important we are in communication with you about what you are planning so that we can ensure there will not be any conflicts.
In the event of an unscheduled session: Photography members will be fined and non-members will be turned away OR asked to pay the session fee immediately.
How early in advance do I need to make my request for a reservation?
We ask that you submit your inquiry with at least 14 days’ notice of your desired date. Reservations may be approved with less notice, but are subject to an additional fee.
Can I bring a drone to Blithewold?
No.
We are planning a family portrait session. Can we bring our pet dog?
No. Only service animals are allowed on site.
We want “golden hour” light. Can we schedule a session around the sunset?
You can schedule your session at any time of day, even if Blithewold is not open for visitation. However, the grounds have no lighting for dark hours, and wildlife is abundant and active during in the early morning and evening.
