Camp Sequoia 2025 Week 1, Day 2: Beating the Heat

It was a true New England scorcher today! We started the day by making crowns that would relate to the book we would read later in the day. Then we got ready for our first art project of the summer with Ms. Joanne. She had us create a picture of the Manor House using markers, sharpies and crayons. We were all blown away by the pictures the campers created. They are all very talented artists! Next, we ate lunch and had free play. After lunch, we spent some time inside to cool off. We read Where The Wild Things Are. The campers learned about the symbol of the crown and how it meant that Max was being mischievous. After the story we made our own monster masks like the ones from the story. After that we went outside to play on the slip and slide. We used water squirters and played some Drip, Drip, Drop. We ended the day relaxing inside playing Statues. The campers have their favorite game on the way for tomorrow! Check out the pictures from today!
