Location: Grounds, Meet at the Welcome Center
Assistant Grounds Manager Dan Daley will lead a tour of Blithewold’s Rhode Island Champion trees. Learn about the age of each tree and its historical significance, in addition to the growth habit, bark type, soil and drought tolerance, disease, and pest issues of each tree. Visitors will be given a list of current champions before the walk and are encouraged to ask questions. Each visitor will gain general knowledge of the champion trees at Blithewold and leave more inspired by each tree’s majestic beauty.
This is a walking tour across the entire property, so please dress and plan accordingly.
- Preregistration is required.
- This tour is held rain or shine, so please dress for the weather.
- Each class is limited to 20 people.
- Includes entrance to the Manor House and Grounds.
