Blithewold’s largest fundraiser, the gala, takes place every other summer usually the 2nd Saturday in August.
The semi-formal dinner dance attracts more than 400 East Bay residents and Rhode Island business leaders for an evening of celebration. Funds raised through ticket sales and auctions go towards the preservation of Blithewold’s historic structures and landscape features.

Please join us at Blithewold’s September 18, 2026 Petals & Palms Gala: under the glass canopy, a premiere fundraising gala bringing together more than 300 supporters for a lively evening under the tent. We will enjoy a delicious meal catered by Blackstone Caterers, a live auction, and dancing to the sounds of Decades by DeZyne – a 12-piece show band renowned across New England who have been performing for more than twenty-five years.
Event proceeds support the restoration of Blithewold’s historic Palm and Rose Houses — timeless symbols of growth, beauty, and renewal. Rebuilding these structures restores a missing chapter in Blithewold’s history. This year’s event will honor dedicated community member and volunteer, Jeff Hirsh, of Bristol, RI.
