Week One, Day One: A Rainy First Day

Even with rain in the forecast, our campers had so much fun! It was a smooth first day mixed with some indoor and outdoor time. We started our day getting to know each other and learning more about camp. Then we created flags and played a quick game of capture the flag before the rain. After that, we spent some time inside learning more about the history of Blithewold by focusing on the youngest daughter of the family who lived here, Augustine. She loved writing poetry, so we wrote some acrostic poems to honor her. After lunch, we played outside a little more before our mansion tour. We have never gotten so many questions on a mansion tour! We were ecstatic to see how eager the campers were throughout their time in the mansion. While we could not take any photos in the house, we know they will all go home with stories about it. Check out of photos from today below!
