Explore how we can each contribute to biodiversity in our own yards. This beautifully filmed series is a wonderful family activity to get the conversation started and empower you to take the next steps.

Doug Tallamy is an entomologist, conservationist, and professor at the University of Delaware whose work has transformed our understanding of the relationship between native plants and wildlife. His vision is simple: “When we all take part, we create the connected habitats that life depends on.”

Popcorn and lemonade are included. Movies are 45 to 50 minutes, with time for discussion afterward.

January 30: What’s the Rush?
Biodiversity is declining. What we do now will shape what happens next. Watch Doug Tallamy explain why acting now matters—and how your yard can make an immediate difference. Insect populations are declining in many regions. Bird populations have dropped significantly over the past decades. Natural areas continue to be lost or fragmented. These changes are gradual, but they affect the systems that support life.

February 20: The Nature of Oaks
Doug Tallamy reveals the essential role oak trees play in supporting biodiversity and explains how they sustain wildlife and healthy ecosystems.

March 27: Restoring Insects
Doug Tallamy explores the vital role insects play in our ecosystems and presents a science-based approach to restoring their populations.
