Last Tuesday of the Month, September 27 – May 30
Grounds: 10 AM – 4 PM
Join us on the last Tuesday of each month from September through May for a fun (and educational) day at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens and Arboretum! In between activities there is plenty of time to enjoy a nice picnic or run out some energy on the Great Lawn!
9 am Guided tour of the Mansion – Pre-registration is required.

Admission: Adult: $14, Child: $6
Blithewold Member admission is free
January 31: Arts and Crafts Movement
- Explore the world of the Arts and Crafts Movement which inspired many of the Blithewold Gardens and elements of the Mansion’s architecture.
- Drop-In Activities:
- 10 – 11 am – Nature in Art in the Education Space
- 12 – 1 pm – Design an Arts and Crafts Magazine in the Education Space
February 28: Art
- Explore different styles and mediums of art just as Marjorie Van Wickle Lyon found her own beautiful style of painting that graces the halls of the second floor. Conservation
- Drop-In Activities:
- 10 – 11 am – Fiber Arts in the Education Space
- 12 – 1 pm – Landscape Watercolor Postcards on the North West Porch
March 28: Wildlife and Ecosystems
- Learn about the creatures that live on the Blithewold estate and how to protect them and their homes.
- Drop-In Activities:
- 10 – 11 am – Frog Life Cycles in the Water Garden
- 12 – 1 pm – Ocean Levels in the Education Space
April 25: Flowers
- Spend a beautiful spring day at Blithewold with the over 100,000 daffodils that fill the gardens, along with many other colorful spring bloomers.
- Drop-In Activities:
- 10 – 11 am – Flower Dissection in the Education Space
- 12 – 1 pm – Flower Arranging on the North West Porch
May 30: Pollinators
- Take some time to explore the world of pollinators and their important role in the life of a healthy ecosystem and garden.
- Drop-In Activities:
- 10 – 11 am – Pollinator Ball on the Great Lawn
- 12 – 1 pm – Life Cycle of a Butterfly or Bee in the Education Space
