Rhode Island’s Encore Opera Company will present “Opera at the Movies” under the Wedding Tent at Blithewold Mansion. Come hear and enjoy the music, featuring the great American tenor Mario Lanza – The Toast of Orleans, The Great Caruso, and The Student Prince featuring tenor Giovanni Formisano. Enjoy arias and duets as they were performed in the movies Pretty Woman, The Shawshank Redemption, and movie versions of Carmen, Don Giovanni, and Carmen. As well as songs from America’s beloved musicals – Kismet, South Pacific, and Les Misérables will be sung as well. The performance will be accompanied by pianist David Gilliland.
