This visual presentation will highlight traditional and fringe rhododendron, azaleas and other spring blooms, and point to a variety of plants that can bring color into your home landscape. About the speaker: R. Wayne Mezitt is a 3rd-generation nurseryman and a Massachusetts Certified Horticulturist. He is chairman of Weston Nurseries of Hopkinton and Chelmsford, MA, now also serving as Trustee Chairman for the Massachusetts Horticultural Society at Elm Bank, Wellesley, MA. He has been president of the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association (1976-78), the New England Nursery Association (1984) and the American Horticulture Industry Association (“AmericanHort”) (2002-3, when it was the American Nursery and Landscape Association), now based in Columbus, Ohio and Washington, DC. Recently he’s formed “Hort-Sense”, a horticultural advisory business that utilizes his knowledge and experience to give clients practical horticultural advice on the effective use of plants.
