Garden Trip to South Carolina

Over the years, many individuals have expressed interest in Blithewold expanding program offerings to include garden trips. With the planning help of Blithewold’s former director, Mark Zelonis, and Jo Ann Carr, owner of Interlude Tours, a tour is set for the spring of 2017.

The Van Wickle family hosted many parties and celebrations at Blithewold. One of the most notable celebrations was Marjorie Van Wickle and George Lyon’s wedding, which took place on June 1, 1914, in an elegant outdoor ceremony in Blithewold’s Enclosed Garden.
